U9/U11 Goalie School

Hello Goalie Families,

The Renegade/Wilde Goalie school will now be accepting registration for goalies.  Registration is limited and there is only room for 12 Renegade U9/U11 Goalies [12 spots will be reserved for Wild goalies] for a total of 24.  Registration fee will be $350.00 and includes 12 one hour sessions [see below for dates, times, and locations].  The sessions will be run by Focus Goaltending who will have 3 goaltender coaches on the ice during each session as well as up to 12 on ice volunteers.

The total cost to run this year's goalie school is $8,114.40 which includes ice rental and 3 Focus goalie coaches.  By increasing the number of registration spots available from 16 to 24, we were able to keep the registration cost for families lower.  This is how we determine the $350 registration fee as it was divided by the 24 registration spots and rounded up for any incidental costs.  This equates to just $29.17 for each of the 12 on ice sessions!

Over the years these goalie schools have only been succesful due to the help of volunteers.  Now that we have increased the registration number at the goalie school from last year from 16 to 24 due to the number of goalies in both the Renegade and Wild zones, we will need more volunteer help than ever.  We will need 6 - 7 volunteers from each zone to make the goalie school successful.  As an on ice volunteer you will help echo the instruction from the 3 goaltender coaches and zone goalie coordinators.  This will also involve shooting at the goalies and being able to adapt to the skill level of each goalie in order to help them succeed as a goaltender.  If you are wanting to volunteer and help on ice as needed or know someone who would like to volunteer, please include that as well when sending me an email.

• Whether or not you or someone you know would be willing to be an on ice volunteer for this year's goalie school sessions.

An email will be sent to you in the following days to confirm your registration or that your child is on the wait list.  Payment information will be also provided in the reply email for those that have a spot.  Registration payment will need to be paid by September 20, 2022 or the next goalie on the wait list will be notified to fill the spot.

This year the goaltenders will be divided into groups based on skill level and will change over the couse of the goalie school due to the progression of each goaltender.  There will be 4 stations with nets [2 at each end of the rink] with 3 goalies at each.  The neutral zone will have 12 goaltenders focusing on goalie movement and edgework.  After 30 minutes, the goalies at the nets will move to the neutral zone and vice versa.
