DIVISION INFORMATION & GUIDELINES
Ensure everything on this checklist is ready before stepping onto the ice:
[x] Full Hockey Equipment: CSA-approved helmet with cage, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, cup, hockey pants, shin pads, skates, and stick.

[x] Neck Guard: Mandatory for all players at every session.
[x] Check-In Desk: Check in at the arena lobby. Have child's name on front of helmet.
[x] First-Year Comfort: First time in full gear or on the ice? If your player requires a parent on the ice for extra support, feel free to help on ice email to let me know.
Season runs from October 2026 to March 2027
Each U7 team will receive 2- 3 SMHA mentoring sessions (practices) for the season.
All U7 ice times will be shared with 1 other team, the only exception may be mentoring sessions that could possibly have 3 teams.
No Games will be scheduled prior to December 1, 2023 (Hockey Sask regulation)
U7 BEGINNER – 1-HOUR ICE TIMes
The U7 Beginners program will consist of 1 weekday and 1 weekend ice time and will include 10 – 1/3 cross ice games and approximately 30 practices (depending on teams and # of weeks of hockey).
Every 2-3 weeks your weekday ice (Thursday/Friday) will be at Granatier Sportsplex. Weekend ice will be in a City of Saskatoon arena or a Canlan facility.
U7 ADVANCED – 1-HOUR ICE TIMES
The U7 Advanced program will consist of 1 weekday and 1 weekend ice time and will include 14 – 1/3 cross ice games and approximately 26 practices (depending on teams and # of weeks of hockey).
Every 2-3 weeks your weekday ice (Monday/Tuesday) will be at Granatier Arena. Weekend ice will be in a City of Saskatoon arena or a Canlan facility.
TEAM PLACEMENT & ROSTER RULES
Placements are balanced based on player age and experience level to ensure fair, competitive play across all teams. Sibling requests and special circumstances are accommodated wherever possible during final team formation.
ANNUAL U7 EVENTS & TOURNAMENTS
Source for Sports U7 Jamboree: A fun pre-season event filled with skill sessions and games. Await Registration details for October 4th.
Timbits Day at SaskTel Sports Centre:Celebratory wrap-up event for all U7 players. March 14 schedules will be shared directly through team managers.
